Lake Neusiedl - based in 1 hotel
Cycling holidays in Burgenland, 7 nights from 719 €
El viaje

The starting point for each of your bike tours is the small wine town of Podersdorf. The landscape is characterised by gently rolling vineyards, Lake Neusiedl, which is surrounded by reed belts, and the Lacken - small, flat salt lakes. Everything on this holiday is about enjoying yourself, so make sure to visit one of the many Heurige wine taverns and winemakers. The tours are easy to cycle, but the wind can be a challenge at times. There are lots of opportunities to go for a swim in the lake and you shouldn’t miss a visit to the thermal baths to round off this tour on Lake Neusiedl.

Day 1 Arrival in Podersdorf
Podersdorf is the only town directly on the lake. It has a lido, a lighthouse and is home to many small winemakers. You’ll instantly feel the holiday mood here.
Day 2 Excursion to Rust, approx. 48 km/30 mi
You’ll take the ship to Rust, a town well-known for its population of Storks. Then you’ll cycle through wine country and charming villages.
Day 3 Excursion to Halbturn, approx. 43 km/27 mi
Today's stage takes you to the Baroque Halbturn Castle, which is surrounded by vineyards. Keep your eyes peeled and with a little luck you’ll see one of the rare bee-eater birds.
Day 4 Excursion to Illmitz, approx. 48 km/30 mi
The Lacken Cycle Path takes you past lush meadows and of course the Lacken salt lakes. Here you’ll also be able to see rare Mangalica pigs and Prezwalski horses. Visit the St. Martin spa and thermal baths, considered to be among the most beautiful in the country.
Day 5 Podersdorf
A day for swimming, sailing and surfing. In the evening, you can enjoy excellent beers from local breweries, which are at home in this wine region.
Day 6 Excursion to Sopron, approx. 72 km/45 mi
The ferry takes you to the festival city of Mörbisch and idyllic cycle paths take you to the Hungarian Ödenburg with its winding streets and lively squares.
Day 7 Round trip Kirschblütenradweg, approx. 44 km/27 mi
The cycle path takes you partly along the lakeshore, partly along the Leitha Mountains, past vineyards and cherry trees. Take a break at one of the many Heurige wine taverns.
Day 8 Departure
After breakfast, your star tour Lake Neusiedl concludes.
Please note: april/october possibly route changes, as not all ferries are running yet.
